Introduction- The most common problem of patients with cerebellar deficits is difficulty with stance and gait and falling. The problem involves the cerebellum, which plays a role in the coordination of movement. Flourens, in 1824, first proposed that the cerebellum helps control coordination of movement. This concept has become generally accepted, but the details of the cerebellar contribution to the control of movement remain vague. Patients with lesions of the cerebellum are said to be 'attaxic,' but this term simply means incoordination of the cerebellar type.
