To improve on the high performance of the MX+ cameras would not have been possible with off-the-shelf sensors, so we took the next step and designed our own sensor range. Vicon Vegas – all new CMOS sensors custom-built for motion capture.

HIGH SPEED. HIGH RES
Motion capture needs both high speed and high resolution. Regular sensors can only offer one or the other but not both. Vicon Vegas sensors enable data to be captured at higher speeds than ever before with full frame speeds up to 500fps and resolutions up to 4 Megapixels.

FREEZE FRAME SHUTTERING
To ensure you get great data, the Vicon Vegas sensor is shuttered, meaning it’s tolerant of on-set or laboratory ambient light. Rolling shutters routinely found on regular CMOS sensors cannot be used for motion capture. The Vicon Vegas is not equipped with just any shutter; it offers a true electronic freeze frame shutter which records the entire sensor image at an exact point in time, eliminating motion blur.

FUTURE PLATFORM
Vicon Vegas is just the start. By designing our own sensor we have complete control over all aspects of future motion capture technology. Vicon will build on this and continue its leadership through innovation.
