VICON DEBUTS ULTRANET HD
New Hardware Device Boosts Scalability and Flexibility for Life Sciences
Oxford, UK (12 December, 2007): Vicon, developer of Academy Award-winning motion capture systems and part of the Oxford Metrics Group, today announced Ultranet HD, a new hardware device enabling customers to configure their Vicon MX motion measurement systems more efficiently and cost-effectively.
The Ultranet HD is the new core hardware for the Vicon MX systems, and combines the functions of several separate devices into one small unit. Ultranet HD includes an eight port Ethernet switch for connection to Basler GigE cameras.
“Our vision for Ultranet HD was to provide one box for everything, making set-up easier for our customers. This is proof of our continuing dedication to innovation and investment in research and development,” said Nick Bolton, chief executive at Oxford Metrics Group. “Thanks to our overwhelming market support, its guaranteed Vicon will always be first to market.”
Ultranet HD can be customised according to requirements:
• Standard configuration: For customers who don’t require any additional options.
• Lab configuration: Equipped with a 64-channel analog card to connect and synchronise force plates and EMG with the MX system.
Ultranet HD minimises the space, cabling and power requirements needed. In addition, Ultranet HD uses GigaBit Ethernet to ensure that the Vicon MX systems have the highest data rate and throughput efficiency of any motion capture system available.
