2K SPORTS UPGRADES TO VICON MX MOTION CAPTURE SYSTEM

High Impact Sports Titles Demand Accuracy and Reliability of VICON MX+ Systems

San Francisco, CA, Game Developers Conference—Booth #354 WH (March 8 , 2007)—VICON, developer of Academy Award®-winning motion capture systems, announced that 2K Sports, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., will install a VICON MX system at a new 2K Sports motion capture studio in Novato, CA. The agreement was announced today at the Game Developers Conference, taking place from March 7-9, 2007 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA.

“Our titles are known for simulating the most authentic game play experiences, whether in baseball, football, hockey or basketball,” said David Washburn, Motion Capture Supervisor, 2K Sports. “We chose VICON because of their reputation for accuracy, reliability and support, given the high volume of motion capture needed for 2K Sports to deliver the increasingly more complex and life-like animations in our games.”

2K Sports is a leading developer of popular sports franchise titles including Major League Baseball® 2K7, NBA® 2K7, NHL® 2K7, and All-Pro Football 2K8. 2K Sports is installing a 48-camera VICON MX system at its new motion capture facility to provide in-house high-resolution performance capture for these and other titles.

“Our newest VICON MX+ cameras are optimized for capturing the most demanding and hard-hitting team sports at levels of detail that previously could only be achieved on big-budget movie sets,” explained Robin Pengelly, Business Development Manager, VICON Entertainment. “We’re thrilled to continue working with 2K Sports and look forward to supporting their future development efforts.”

2K Sports is among an elite group of game developers around the world using VICON motion capture systems including Activision, Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Microsoft Games, Midway Games, Sony Computer Entertainment of America, Capcom, Konami, NAMCO, Nintendo, Sega and top film effects studios including Industrial Light & Magic, Sony Pictures Imageworks, Animal Logic, Rhythm & Hues and others.
