Case Studies

In use in a wide variety of customers and application fields, here is a limited selection of what a number of Vicon customers use their system for. For further case study material contact your nearest Vicon office or reseller.

University of Salford. This highly respected university uses Vicon SVCams with the Barco Trace system. The team at the Centre for Virtual Environments chose Vicon after using magnetic and inertial technology for years.

Los Alamos Laboratories. One of the largest CAVE environments in the World needed a flexible system that could accurately track in a large but confined space for complex visualizations and data sets - they found this in a Vicon system.

Daimler Chrysler. Collaboration is key when designing new cars. The Vicon system enables engineers to simultaneously interact with a virtual models quickly and easily, without the constraints of wires and the weight of heavy sensors.

University of Iowa. The University of Iowa uses a Vicon system on the Virtual Soldier Research project. The main objective for using Vicon is to predict the motion and performance of their virtual human model Santos™.  For further information on the Virtual Soldier Research project click here.
